The Members of MIDWA are:
Members of MIDWA are full participants and have no limitations in their participation in all MIDWA related activities. They have full access to all the documents, reports, and any other source of information, data, and knowledge generated by MIDWA.
MIDWA will be chaired by the Representative of the ECOWAS Member State currently being the Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State of ECOWAS, in consultation with the ECOWAS Commission. Hosting of meetings should be rotational, if possible in the host country of the Chair otherwise could be hosted by any other Members State.
Non-statutory members of MIDWA can join the process as observers. Observers are expected to play an advisory role and will have full access to all MIDWA related activities (such as meetings and ad hoc working groups) as well as documents unless decided otherwise by the Steering Committee. Observers may comment on any process-related documents (such as the multi-year program) but do not have a right to vote and participation in the electoral process of MIDWA.
The under-listed Partners shall be observers to MIDWA.
The Steering Committee, with due regard to the above considerations, may invite on an ad hoc basis relevant United Nations agencies, other international, regional, organizations, institutions, and affiliates to participate as Observers for a related meeting.
A MIDWA secretariat will be hosted at the ECOWAS Commission with the support of IOM. It is suggested that the Secretariat’s tasks will – under the overall guidance of the Chair-in-Office/Steering Committee- include the following:
